Blake's Story
After High school, I attended Morehouse College for a year. I then returned to Flint and attended UofM. In 1979, I joined the US Army where I spent 6 years in administration and as a recruiter. I was married to my first wife in 1981 and my oldest (Blake II) was born later that year.
After the service, I returned to UofM Flint and worked at the Grand Blanc Plant. At first I worked on the line and then as a supervisor. My second child was born in 1986 (Brittny. Shortly after this time, I was divorced.
In 1990, I left GM and went to work for EDS where I began a career in the call center industry. I also married my second and current wife. For the next 10 years, I progressed through ranks and eventually was promoted to call center manager where I managed in excess of 600 employees. oit area, to Philadelphia area, and finally to Durham, NC where I currently live. My career also afforded me the opportunity to travel around the country assisting with distressed operations and to assist with business development in south Africa, Spain, Canada, and India.
I left EDS in 2000 and went to work for a company called ZC Sterling as the VP of Call Center Operations where I manage 4 sites in Irvine, CA, Lincoln, NE, Raleigh/DUrham, NC, and jacksonville, FL. After working there 5 years, I left the company and the industry.
I got my real estate brokers license and began working for Lennar Homes as a New Home consultant.
In 2002, my wife Leslie and I adopted a new born who is now 7 years old (Niyah Danielle). We are active in our church and our community and are expecting our first grandchild.
