teered w/Habitat for Humanity and during that time helped work on 5 projects and built two homes completely from the ground up. Even though I have been unable to volunteer during the past several years, I am a Site Project Manager/Crew Leader after taking and passing their class on this subject. My current schedule doesn't allow me to participate on Saturday's when they are active in my area. Recently my wife and I bought a florist shop in Cartersville, Ga which is near where we live. She was a floral manager for a local grocery store when we met over 10 years ago and shortly after we were married she left the field and went to work for a pediatrician's office. She wasn't real happy working there but she did well. Last fall she really worked hard at a career change to try and get back into some sort of interrior design work to allow her to use her creative talents and was not successful. Then in January an acquaintance of my wife's asked her if she would be interested in purchasing her florist shop. She was 70 yrs old and wanted to retire. This was just the opportunity Kathy was looking for. So now we are a small business owner of the busiest Florist shop in Cartersville, Ga. Neither one of us has ever run a business in our lives so there is a sharp learning curve for us. I still work my telecommuting job for Sprint/Nextel during the day and in the evenings after I get off work I will head to town to help her if need be. All in all 2007 is starting out to be a very busy year and watch out for Mother's day!! (Valentines Day was a doozy!).
