Bob's Story
Remember standing in the hot lunch line in the basement. Remember fleeceball games in the big schoolyard, the big tree at first base. Remember Mr Foote. Music with Mrs. Lundregan. Remember the warped wooden floors in the hallways. I spent kindegarten to 8th grade in the original Bowdithch School on Flint st. I lived 1 house from the school and spent many a summer in the schoolyard as well. I remember Mr. Latnick the school custodian who dwelled in the basement to Mr. Pantano in the"attic" of the school who also coached us to 2 undefeated football seasons. .Fallon was the pricipal we feard back in those days but looking back he was a pretty fair guy who mostly scared us with his deep voice! The 'New Bowditch kids" should know where thier roots come from and its at 35 Flint st. The Auditorium/gym is gone now but I have many great memories of my basketball exploits there on Tues nights with the late Cliff Roby who opened the gym and reffed our games. You can't live in the past but theres nothing wrong with remembering the good times that were had then.I don't know if thirsty kids quench their thirst by gettin' a drink from the 'bubbler' but I hope so, some things shouldn't change.
