Bob's Story
Life
When I was at Tech High, I was insecure and had no idea who I was as a person or what I wanted to do in the future. My Mother had been a singer with the big bands during the 20-30s and had always played her piano and sang while I was growing up. My love for music coupled with my visits to California between college years at Memphis State resulted in my working at Capitol Records in Hollywood in the 60's where I got my first of several major record deals along with a handful of singles on the pop charts and some pop fame with a group called The Peppermint Trolly Company. The 60's were also the beginning of very powerful social change with the hippie generation flowering tremendously particularly in California. d concentrate full time on music. She went to work at CBS television, and I began what has become a lifelong comittment to a career in music. After years of songwriting and recording and two music videos which won a total of 8 Emmys, my second wife and I moved to nashville in 1991, I began writing for other artists in the country feild until I came full circle and once again became an artist myself. I've had two top 20 CDs on the Americana charts in the last bunch of years and have 14 CDs total to my credit . Its beyond me how a boy from Tech High could ever rise above his fear of speaking in public to become a performer who now does two tours of Europe each year. I leave june 6th for a 60 city tour of Ireland, Scotland, England and France. You can find me at cheeversongs.com which, after may 23rd, will be bobcheevers.com
Its nice to see familiar names on the Tech High list here. I hope we all are happy and healthy for years to come. bob cheevers
