Bob's Story
Life
Univ. of Rochester, '74 Math . . . Xerox - manage systems staff, married in '81, two girls ('86, '89). Divorced in '99.
Still in Rochester. "A great place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there!"
Didn't get my 35-year pin from Xerox this summer (they stopped giving out pins for cost cutting). For those of you that asked in the mid-70's, . . . I guess I will stay for a few more years!!
Conductor of Rochester Jewish Chorale - a community-based chorus of about 25 in its 16th year.
School
You mean Rye High School?? (scratching head to remember . . . )
Let's see - inspiring teachers:
- Dillinbeck was the classic 'old-school' English teacher. Among the best, even with his famous "F" stamp.
- McAnareney (sp?) for math - always challenging and inspring.
- Friedman for Chemistry...Expand for more
(2 yrs). Fun, challenging. Last time I visited Rye, I checked a recent yearbook in the Rye Library, and found he was the only remaining teacher's name I recognized.
- Caterson and L'Imoge for French.
And, for me, the whole music department, notably Welliver, Finley, and Russell for theater.
Do it over? Sure - probably would be a bit more conscious of my own dorky/nerdiness. Great circles of friends, unfortuantly haven't kept up:
guys: Joe C., Nathan A., Danny K., Scott B.,
gals: Diane J., Anita B., Kathy McK., Kim W., (who am I forgettin?).
Happiest school memories - the parties in 11th & 12th grade, the various shows "Finian's Rainbow", "Brigadoon", assorted talent shows, Les Chansonettes, Chorus "Ring those Christmas Bells" piano part.
