Life Life after CHS started with a semester at Foothill JC where I discovered that I wasn't really ready to continue down the educational road so I fell into the trap of wants over planning for the future. That lead me to a short stint working in a steel yard, which was good for my physical condition but left out any stimulation of my intellect. I was given an opportunity to work at NASA, Ames Research Center which I eagerly took and spent the next six years working in the Mechanical Instrument Shop doing a very broad variety of manufacturing tasks, some interesting and some mundane. NASA went through a down sizing in the early 70's and I took advantage of my unemployment and went back to college. I intended to got for a BS in Computer Science but after a couple years of that program I decided that field wasn't for me so when NASA called me up and asked me to return I took them up on their offer.
