Bob's Story
Life
(Update 2013)
I graduated from St. Norbert High School in 1967 and went straight into Mechanical Engineering at the U of M. Upon Graduation, I moved out to Alberta where I have (more or less) stayed ever since.
I worked for Schlumberger Wireline from 1974 to 1979, Home Oil from '79 to '91 and Kooyman Engineering ever since.
I married my lovely wife Brenda in 1978. Brenda is an educational psychologist in private practice. She has always been fascinated with how kids learn and now she is helping them overcome their difficulties.
We have three children, Meghan, 29, Robin, 26, and Jeremy 24. Meghan just graduated with honors with a BA/B.Ed and taught for two years in the lock down mental health ward at Children's Hospital in Calgary and has gone off to Australia to become a Doctor. She is currently studying in Broome a tropical paradise on the North Coast of WA. (I ...Expand for more
used to work there). Robin graduated with honors from Business at U.Vic, and is currently posted by the Bank to London, England where she is a VP in the institutional Investments Dept. Jeremy is in his second year of a Masters of Bio-Medical Engineering at UBC. Unlike his father, he made the dean's honor list.
My petroleum engineering practice is based out of Calgary but has taken me around the world to Australia, Russia, the US, Trinidad, Peru, Columbia, and most recently to Germany. I'm currently working for a small Canadian company with operations in Germany. I spent much of 2012 in Berlin and am headed back that way soon.
Several years ago I fulfilled a childhood dream by obtaining my Ultralight Pilot's Permit and am currently looking for a suitable plane to go flying in my non-existent leisure time..
