Bob's Story
After high school, I spent a year and a half at Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania and left when the combination of drawing number 18 in the first military draft and having way too much fun to make good grades became evident. I spent two years in the Navy stationed out of New London, Conn. and sailed to Cuba, Jamaica and the Mediteranean. After getting out of the Nav, lived in Conn. for 16 years making a living by repairing cars and eventually working in and then managing a chain of auto parts stores. When my marriage and the business imploded simultaneously, I bought a motor home and headed to see a woman living out west that I went out with in high school and attended Morristown High. I headed north from Conn. and took a month getting to California. I fished my way throug...Expand for more
h Canada and entered the US at Glacier National Park and slowly made my way across Idaho, into Oregon and finally down to California. My plan was to see this woman and if there was something there, take the southern route back to the east coast with her. She said she wouldn't leave California, so here I am. We have been married for 19 years. Along the way, I went back to school for Computer Graphics and first worked in a reprographics business and now with an international architectural firm that specializes in high-end hospitality around the world. You can check out the company at watg.com. My wife, Karen, started out in HR, but went back to school, also and now has her doctorate in psychology. It's been quite a journey and I look forward to many more journeys ahead. Bob
