Bob's Story
Following High School I attended Anoka Ramsey Community College, North Hennepin Community College and Southwest State College in Marshall Mn. I also took some night classes at the U of Mn. In 1973 I purchased a resort on Mille Lacs Lake. In late 73 I married Diana S Locke (Mounds View class of 1970). We sold the resort in 76 and moved to Brainerd where I worked for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. In 78 we moved to Cambridge and I worked for Isanti County. Our first daughter was born in Cambridge in late 1973. In 79 we moved to Montevideo where I worked for Yellow Medicine County. Our second daughter was born in Montevideo in 1981. In 1982 we moved to Grand Rapids where I served as the County Administrator until my retirement in 2008. Our third daughter was born in 1985 in Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids and our winter home is in Yuma Az. I no longer appreciate the winter months in Minnesota and prefer the sunshine, warm temps and picking citrus off our trees in Az. rather than bundling up to face -30 in January.
WE currently have six grandchildren and our daughters bless us with their 4 legged friends on a regular basis. They keep us company now that our own nest is empty.
Life has been good but I am happy to be retired and removed from the political arena. Upon working retirement, I also retired from numerous volunteer organizations that I was active in. Although I miss the human relationships on a periodic basis, I do not miss the constant fundraising that seemed to be part of every non-profit organization. Retirement closes some doors but appears to open new ones. It takes some adjustments but it has been well worth the wait.
