careful for the next two years, especially due to Karen's centenarian father. He passed away in late 2021, so we were looking forward to finally implementing our retirement plan. We booked a number of trips for the summer and fall of 2022 and a trip back to St. Martin for early 2023..

She spent her last six weeks in hospital and passed away at the end of June, one day before our 37th wedding anniversary. 2022 has been my annus horribilis (thanks, Miss Carroll, for the Latin lessons.). It has been a time of great sadness, with lots of changes and adjustments. As they say, life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.
