Bob's Story
I was away from Classmates, for w while, but I'm back.
I graduated in '67. I didn't realize Gober was such a small place/school until I got away for a while. School was fun but I was a lazy student beginning in the 5th or 6th grade. I have many regrets now. I went on to ETSU and dropped out after over 3 years. I joined the US Air Force and spent 4 years and really enjoyed the AF. 3 years after I got out of the AF, I went back to ETSU and graduated in '79, at age 30. I was married while I was in the USAF but divorced just before I got out. After graduation from ETSU, I worked for the State and that lasted for about 24 years. I lived in Commerce and Bonham and then moved to Lubbock in 1983. I like West Texas. I married Becky in 1990 and we have had fun the past 18 years. I retired from my state job in 2005 but I continued working in a new career. I will probably work a few more years before reti...Expand for more
ring altogether. My hobbies include playing music and buying and selling musical instruments. I also do some woodwork and playing a little golf. I played in a few country/bluegrass/country rock bands in the mid 70's. In 1997 the first band reunited and we now play once every 3 mo. or so. We usually play around Bonham or Honey Grove. The band will travel out to Lubbock, in the Fall, and we will play at the Texas Tech Ranching Heritage Center's barn dance. It's a big deal in Lubbock. Becky and I are active in our church and she sings in the choir and I play bass guitar in the orchestra. We attend the largest church in Lubbock. We have a 25 yr. old daughter, Stephanie, who is an interior designer and lives in Dallas. No grand kids yet but maybe some day. The class of '67 had our 40th year reunion the summer of 2007 and it was good to see most of the class. That's about it. I might add more later.
