Bobbie's Story
Wow what a life after graduation I joined the Air Force and was stationed at Carswell AFB, TX the whole time. Enjoyed working in the supply system and then became a scheduler and scheduled anything from people, plane's, inspections and flying. After that I worked at Lockheed Martin (General Dynamic's) until I got caught up in the layoff's. I then decided I wasn't done working yet and took the postal exam and passed of course. I worked in the Mineral Wells post office until I was forced to do a disability retirement. Guess I always worked to hard and it finally caught up with me. I am now enjoying retirement and a wonderful life with my husband which those from Fairfield High just might know, Ben Lathrop. Yes after knowing him since 3rd grade and being members in the same church my mother knew best. I have her to thank for my life of love and happiness. My dad "god rest his soul" thought of Ben as a son for so long that he finally became his son-in-law. It's wonderful to have the blessing of family we have 2 girls and 2 boys, 2 grandson's and 2 granddaughters. While I was serving our country I never had the chance to go to war and do what I had been t...Expand for more
rained for, although Ben has recently just returned from Iraq as a medic and so I was able to serve through him by supporting him and the other troops of our unit while they were deployed. I know the question is "Who am I really", I'm the girl that was proud to graduate in 1979 from Fairfield High School and continue my life to the fullest as I did growing up. I have done some traveling during the years and hope to continue traveling and exploring life to it's fullest. Although after the basic training for the Air Force I wasn't that little girl that could be pushed around during my younger years. I was a women who knew what she wanted and I learned to stand up for what I felt was right. I'm sure that some of you will remember me as the clarinet player that was always trying to get that first chair but just didn't quite get there but I had fun doing it. I was very busy my senior year with working at 2 jobs and having advanced placement to college thanks to the counselor's. It did pay off. Some will remember my sister (Becky) and I as the Anenson girls. Although sister's we surely had our own ways about us. Life was good then and is even better now.
