Robert's Story
Hmmmmmmmmmm where to begin.....I suppose Long Hill in Mrs. Bryant's first grade class. From there onto Ms. Bethune's second grade class. I do not remember either of the teacher's names at Underwood Hills in third grade, yet I am one of those who can say I had to walk home from school in thigh high snow. I was one of the first through the door at College Lakes in 1965 for Ms. Godwin's fourth grade only to leave for Japan in October. I recall going through the Fussa Gate from Yakota on the transport bus to Tachi when we arrived. The smells, the sights and cacaphony of sounds wafting through the wilndow of the bus. I remember thinking, we're not in Kansas anymore.......Finished the fourth grade and fifth grade at Tachi Elem. Ms. Queri was fifth grade treacher. Sixth grade we moved to the new concept of Tachi Middle..........Ms. Dawson. I left Tachi in the spring of 7th grade in '69 to go t...Expand for more
o Hawaii. Can you really think of a better place to be 12 /13 in '69-'70?? I cannot say I enjoyed school at Aiea Intermediate all that much, I never liked school anywhere. Then to come stateside to the turmoil of teenage angst in the '70s. There has NEVER been such another time in our country. Carr Jr. High in the 9th was such an experience. No-One could ever forget Ernestine Jones. She taught me so much on so many levels. Durham High, I never wanted to leave and couldn't wait to get back. Reid Ross?? Good friends and some fond memories. FTI (not FTCC) .......... What can I say?? My general ed classmates.......it was a GREAT time to be a freshman. FSU again, an education like no other...It was a place to become somebody. Last, but by no means least, Campbell Law. I cannot and need not say more. All molded and shaped who and what I am. A terrific life and wonderful experiences.
