Bob's Story

Life My Spouse I met my current (#2) wife at the Long Beach dog park in 1998. Our dogs hit it off, and eventually so did we. Updated 4/10 My Pets Dakota is a Lab mix who believes his job in life is to wash everyone's face when we come in the house. We also have Smiley, a Bassett mix, named for the smile he always wears. Rosie, another mix, is getting on in years. Rosie is known as Rosie the Nosie or Rosie the Kisser. My Kids My oldest son, Logan, is a Sgt in a special unit of the Army Special Forces (the Green Berets)and has done two rotations in Kosovo, and will soon leave for his forth rotation in Iraq. He is stationed in North Carolina. ...Expand for more
My youngest son, Cody, is also in the service. He is a medic and runs the med office for his unit. He will be heading overseas again soon, too. Me I am semi-retired (emphasis on the tired). I still do some house painting and small repairs, but no longer am interested in the big remodels or major repairs I once enjoyed. This year (2010) I got my tax prep licence here in Calif. and have been doing a lot of review and data entry in my wife's CPA firm. We are looking forward to a visit to NC next month. Chance to see my son before he ships out again, and to play with the two grand daughters. I hope to get in a trip to Oregon later this summer as well.

Another dull, boring sunrise here in the desert!

You can find the strangest things in the desert. This rock is decorated with 3 automotive fan belts and their shadows. 1/4 mile off the nearest road on a foot trail.
It has been absolutely beautiful weather lately. The sunsets have been super... almost beyond belief. This one is from last night.
Another beautiful day here in the desert. High was near 90. Clear, light breezes, and high thin clouds. Like last night, we had a colorful sunset tonight. It will be great if we have another sunset like this tomorrow
