Bonnie's Story
I finished two yrs. at Moorpark Jr. College and that summer, 1970, I married my husband, Dale. We moved to his home state of Minnesota. We live in a small town west of the Twin Cities. This summer we will celebrate our 39th anniversary. Most of my years after high school & college were spent as a homemaker and the raising of 3 children. As most of us know, it is a fulltime job with benefits.
Dale travels extensively for his company. The last 10 yrs I have been fortunate to join him and see for myself the sights and countries I only saw thru his eyes. I guess you could say I am retired, but I think of it as, "On Call." I am on call to help our children & grandchildren when necessary. And I am call to travel with my husband whenever the time is right to catch the next plan...Expand for more
e. Having this freedom allows me to: volunteer with the historical society, work on genealogy, putts in the garden, sew for the grandkids or take them ice skating.
Our foreign exchange student from Bolivia, Aida Carvajal and I have kept in contact over the years. We were able to see her 3 years ago at my mother's home in CA. Aida lives in Tulca, Mexico and is a doctor.
Volunteering and getting involved with different organizations in high school prepared me for all the volunteering and community involvement after I left home. Maybe I haven't changed that much after 41 years.
Hopefully I will be able to see many old & new friends at the reunion picnic in June. I haven't been back to Simi since the 30th reunion and I am looking forward to the visit. See you all there.
