Bonnie's Story

A little about me: I am 64 years old and reside in a modest home in the Pacific NW with my husband. This year we are celebrating 42 exciting and fulfilling years of a loving marriage. Together we have one son, Nathan Allen Pinard, who is an accomplished composer and a tech worker. My husband also has 2 grown sons from his first marriage. Like most families, we have have faced some tough challenges in this adventure we call life, and there have been many ups and downs along the way. However, through it all we have managed to overcome and persevere. Recently, my dear husband, who is a spry and handsome 70 years of age, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease . We don't yet know what the future holds but are taking each day as it comes, enjoying all that life has to give as we draw strength from each other, and from our faith in God. We are currently making the most of his forced retirement by landscaping our property, and by enjoying the many doves, hummingbirds, wild birds and squirrels that visit our yard! ther and wife. My husband and I owned and operated a high-end gift store that was popular with tourists and locals alike for 10 years . I am also a classically trained singer and in my youth I was active in musical theater and vocal competitions. My husband, myself and our son mounted a full stage production of the Musical Drama YESHUA, with the script and all original songs composed by me; and the musical score composed by our son. My husband was the producer of this venture, and with a cast of over 100, we brought a new Messianic spin on the Passion story to the Parkrose Performing Arts Center for 3 consecutive years. My son and I have formed a group called Immortal Aria and are currently producing a CD of all original music. Our first single was released on itunes in May 2013. I wrote the words and music and my son composed the accompaniment. The guest vocalist is is Toni Gibson, an up and coming soprano from New Zealand. The song can be downloaded by searching itunes: Immortal Aria The Bleeding Rose. visit my website at: chansondelange video of my song: youtube.com/watch?v=_g81surwXU0

I love the natural light in my family room, and the greens trees outside the window.

The simple things I miss:

Watching him pull the keys from his pocket, unlock the driver side door of our Camry , slide confidently onto the the seat, placing his hands on the wheel.

Back to sleeping a lot of the day and night. My body is still trying to recover from chronic fatigue syndrome. Still trying to get the crud out of my chest.

Rough night. Coughing and gagging. Loads of fun. Asthmatic bronchitis is my poison. Had it so many times.

I have everything I need to recover. Antibiotics can’t touch this, so it’s nebulizer, Mucinex, tea with honey
Thought I was gonna fly through this chest infection but it’s a beast. I feel awful.
Photo of me in my element.
Today is mine and Bill’s 46th anniversary. Love this photo taken by our dear friend. Still have yet to make a print of it. We will be heading over to see Bill later this morning.
Last chance to see this incredible concert before it moves to Carnegie Hall! For real!

We are visiting Bill in the Memory Care sun room. It’s not a bright sunny day but it is still the brightest room in the place.

Bill is peacefully sitting in a chair, drowsing as other residents pace up and down the hall.
Visiting Bill. He mostly sleeps when we visit. I just sit by him and rock his chair a little with my knee.
The most difficult aspect of chronic fatigue syndrome is that you are in bed or sitting down for most of your day. And you don’t have a choice. If you overdo activities; even just regular housework, or going for a walk… t
