Bonnie Kitchen:  

receptionist at a car dealership and moved up to accounts. Did accounts there in Bath, Avon for a few years until I moved to Suffolk and found another car dealership and did accounts there as well. My last job as an employee was with a construction company (you got it, doing accounts!). After that I took off to have a family. While my girls were growing up I trained to do "Child Minding". I did that for a couple of years until my space came up at Suffolk College. Then in '91 I started my training in Midwifery. That took 3 years. After that, I have done only Midwifery. Moving back here to the States was a bit of a culture shock in my field. Midwifery is concidered "a little out there" and doctors tend to think we're uneducated old women. Sad. It is a growing field here in the US and I am proud to say that it looks like my business partner, apprentice and I may be involved getting the first birthing center in Tarrant county up and running if all goes according to plan! I love what I do. It is exhausting but very rewarding.
