Brad Lewis (Mathews):  

Life Born in Toronto, Canada. Raised in partly in Toronto Canada and partly in South Gate, California. Always interested in music and writing, but was only beginning to learn the guitar in H.S.. After high school, I took piano at adult school and began to play parties and biker weddings. In the late 70's I started my first house gig at the old Walts (Mustang Sallys) on Atlantic. I went to Fullerton college for a short time as a broadcast major where I took acting and music classes(played cello in beginning band). Moved to Hollywood for a couple of years where I studied with famous New Orleans guitarist Ernest Mclean (Fats Domino, Lloyd Price). I played mandolin for a while for Karla of the Tesxtones, guitar with Will Ray and the Gila Monsters. Made a living playing music in the 80's but decided to go back to school for a music degree. I started at the age of 35 going to Long Beach City College. I was in the classic music program but studied jazz with Frank Potenza too.
