PERSONAL LIFE
In 1977, I made a giant personal change in discovering my fit in life was being gay. Back then, it was at such a taboo level that I lived one life (to the outside world) in the closet and then to my friends I was out. SO JUST HOW MANY THAT READ THIS ARE/WERE SURPRISED OR NOT SURPRISED THAT I'M GAY.
I kept close ties to Mansfield until my mother died in 1985 (my father had passed in 1969). My first job didn't pay a much so I rehabed and sold homes. I stopped that when I bought my current 120yr old Victorian in 1995.
On the relationship front: My first partner and I were together from 1983 to 1993. My current partner (who has his doctoral degree) is 10 years my junior. A handsome critter that I've been with for over 15 years. We love travel and have been to 23-24 countries and 200+ major world cities. The loves of our lives are our 3 cats (2yrs old) and my dog, Buster, a wonderful, amazing Scottish Terrier who could do nothing wrong in his Dad's eyes.
SOCIAL
My career takes up a great deal of my social life. Business required that I take up golf. However, I also enjoy many other activities: SCUBA, in-line skating, lifting, running, etc. Because I helped many friends through their end days in the height of the AIDS epidemic, I took to hospice care natuarally and am a regular volunteer. On the side, my partner and I white-water raft and keep fairly nice garden. Columbus is known as one of the 4 secret crown jewels of the gay culture, so life here is pleasant. Good friends, easy going and a gay life style that is probably 180 degrees from what is seen as a stereotype.
There is a lot more to me today than when I was in High School as I'm sure there is all of you!!!!
