Bradley's Story
After Burrillville, I went to Boston College and graduated from the School of Education in 1970 as a history major. Played freshmen football and freshmen hockey while at BC. I received a masters degree in school administration from Framingham State College in 1977. For over forty years, I have worked in both public and independent education in Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Maine as a teacher, baseball and football coach, and school administrator - primarily as Director of Athletics.
I was the president of the Maine Association of Independent School Athletic Directors from 1991 to 2010. During that time I was also the treasurer, vice-president, and president for the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, an organization that governs athletic tournament competition for roughly 165 independent schools in New England and eastern New York. In 2010, I received NEPSAC's Distinguished Service Award, the first Maine athletic di...Expand for more
rector to be so honored.
I've been married since 1971 and have two grown sons and two lovely granddaughters who affectionately call me "Coach." Both sons were excellent students and outstanding high school and collegiate athletes, who now enjoy distinguished professional careers.
In 2002 I was inducted into Burrillville High School's Athletic Hall of Fame for individual accomplishments and again in 2004 as a member of the 1965 state championship baseball team. I currently live in North Yarmouth, Maine, a small town similar to what Burrillville used to be like. Now semi-retired, I keep myself busy as a substitute teacher in five local school districts. I am also the head varsity baseball coach (and Junior Legion coach) at one of those schools and I am a seasonal customer service representative at LL Bean. I enjoy what I do very much, living and working here in God's country with my wife and two Labrador retrievers. Life is good.
