Brenda's Story
Well let me see...left the Island about 15 years ago for Alberta lived in Taber for a little over 4 years...from there did a few years in Wainwright Alberta (about 2&1/2 hours east of Edmonton)...then onto northern BC...Oh god it was great to be back in BC...so living and working (self employed) in Fort Nelson...mile 300 on the Alaska highway...working in the Gas and Oil Industry. Working 3 pilot trucks this winter.2 of mine and one that belongs to a good friend running under my paperwork.
But so not ready for winter just yet!!!!!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have DVD player, Sirius Satalite radio, and PSP player to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
MY Hero is my dad...he taught me any job worth doing is worth doing well
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Robert J, because we just got reaquianted after 30+years.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 5 million to the local hostipal to update old equipment and bring in new doctors LOTS of it to help my family finacially, then spend the rest on charitys, animal rights programs childerns programs and enough left to retire comfortably.
My current age is 53. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be Dead...l...Expand for more
ol. I was so completely WRONG!!!!.
Run a few more trucks, and run the operation from my office and cell phone, semi retire i guess is what i want to say
My best friend would tell you I'm not as tough as i appear to be, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as easy to work with, but stubborn and determind.
I still dress the same as i ever did, jeans and t-shirts never go out of style...lol
I share my home with 6 dogs, several cats and Wayne, which I find totally Kaotic sometimes but never dull...lmao.
If i had one do-over i would have moved way up north much sooner then i did
In 10 years, I hope to be at least semi retired. I'm going to get there by working very hard.
Lisa Whittingham is my oldest and dearest friend and we don't talk near enough...something i am going to change! We met as baby's our parents were neighbours and the best of friends we grew up together...love of horses and the water made us click as we grew older, and being liked minded i guess
My first job was at waitress, where I got paid nothing almost to wait on mill rats mostly at the Cedar Inn in Youbou. What I remember most about it is i really hated that job...lol But like the local people i would wait on.
