Brenda's Story
Life
At the ripe old age of 53 my husband and I moved from the big city with all of it's conveniences to a smaller than small town of 508. We now live on 20 acres filled with fresh air and the peace and quiet that rural life brings. The fresh air is broken twice a day by the necessary mucking of horse stalls. Oh yeah, I never realized how much horses.....produce. Conveniences are only 15-45 minutes away in Granbury and surrounding cities. My daughter and son-in-law and grandson live 45 minutes away. My son who is a deputy sheriff lives about a block away.
School
I loved Odessa and going to OHS. Loved the football games, basketball and play night. Yes, I would do it all over again only this time I would hope to do it with...Expand for more
a little more zest and not be so shy.l
College
Finished College after I was married. Enjoyed the classes, but it was just a job that I needed to complete.
Workplace
I've had some odd jobs, but the most rewarding has been raising a family. I was so fortunate to be able to stay home with my children and be present at their school parties and special events. I would not change a thing about being with them. I would do it over again just to enjoy it all over. I miss my kids being kids. I have considered working since my family now has a life of their own. Time will tell.......
Military
I've never served in the military, but I am so very proud of our young people who sacrifice to protect our way of life. Thank you!
