Brett's Story
Life
Well, I graduated from Mumford HS (I also attended CASS Tech), Detroit MI, Joined the USAF and retired after 20yrs. Currently I'm a C4I Systems Administrator with Jacobs Technologies INC. in Hampton, VA. I recently bought and moved into my 1st Condo here in VA. My son (19) and I live there, it's definently a bachelor crib, big screen, pool table, martial arts weapons... My monument to testosterone :-)
School
Stoic, introverted with a severe case of performance anxiety, this last made going up to the board pure agony and more often than not I would take the "F", and make up the balance during test, mid-terms and finals. Homework... the logic in this still escapes me. I mean if I just spent 6-8 hours in school why the hell am I still having to take work home?!?! Oh, and some folks said I had a mean streak... Not true, only if pushed.
Workplace
The Quantico Years:
I awaken each workday and sit there on my bed for a few moments... "Sigh", exhaling another fraction of my life out. Another day of work is before me (damn you Lotto, you failed me again!). Upon arriving at my job and fighting tooth and nail for a parking spot, I walk the walk of the damned across the parking lot, shedding a single tear of loathing and frustration. y desk and preform my daily start-up routine, finally opening my email (welcome to the House of Pain!).
UPDATE, NEW JOB, NEW CITY!
The Langley AFB/Hampton, VA Years:
I awaken each workday and sit there on my bed for a few moments... "Sigh", exhaling another fraction of my life out. Another day of work is before me (damn you Lotto, you failed me again!). Upon arriving at my job and parking my car, I walk the walk of the damned across the parking lot, shedding a single tear of loathing and frustration. I go to my desk and preform my daily start-up routine, finally opening my email (welcome to the House of Pain!). Well... at least I don't have to fight for parking now... So thing's are looking up! ...right? :-o
Military
Okay, I have to say this was not a good fit. My observations and experience indicates to me that the artistic minded person is not a good fit within the military, add to that a Liberal mind set and you've got yourself a classic Vinegar and Water mix. The military majority are some of the most Right Wing and Conservative folks I have ever come across (shudder). But, I stuck it out, served my 20 years... Hmmm, I wonder what that say's about me? Patriotic? Loyal? Stick-to-it-ness? Stubborn? To-Lazy-To-Change-ness? Hmmm...
