Brian's Story
Life
Wow, talk about totally lucking into a perfect fit job. After spending a year in Baghdad dodging bullets and rockets the Air Force had to find a place to put me. Originally they wanted me to go back to the Pentagon for another year, but having moved my wife and son to the middle of nowhere in Arkansas to be close to my mom and dad, there wasn't anything left for me back in DC. So they offered me a position in Hawaii. Who could turn that down? So I'm now working for the Joint Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Command. Our mission is to find our missing servicemen and women from previous conflicts. All told we're still missing over 88,000 personnel, so we're pretty busy going around the globe trying to find remains so we can bring some closure to their families. ouch each other. It's a hefty challenge to get signal to the dense jungles in Vietnam. The best part of the adventure is traveling to most of those locations personally to make sure that things are working the way they are supposed to. I can't imagine having a more rewarding mission than this one.
Of course I have to admit I'm kind of looking forward to first retirement. Hopefully my next job will be a little more...or a little less...well I'm not sure what I'm going to be looking for just yet. I'll figure it out at some point I suppose.

If you want the long version head over to myspace for the blog. Short version...I comissioned into the Air Force out of Southeast Missouri State as a 2Lt. I started off as a behavioral scientist, but switched over to my true joy of communications so I could work with computers. Since that point 15 years ago when I raised my hand and said I would support and defend the Constitution I've been around the globe from Bosnia to Baghdad and lots of places in between.
