Brian's Story
Life
Spent much time on volunteer projects like the volunteer ambulance squad, bible educational work, and a building project in Peru. It was there I met a girl, got married, and was then divorced 6-7 yrs later at her instigation. We had a son in 1987 who has lived with me here in Melbourne ever since and is now an EGHS graduate himself. Staying busy with work, doing the bible education work, and the usual home life.
I've worked at a boat marina, seasonal heavy equipment farm work in Indiana at a relatives farm, but most of my work has been in the construction trades and still do similar work in a home repair setting. Nothing exciting, but I am proud to be able to claim that I'm one of the few who has hung there in good old Eau Gallie/Melb. I am curious though, what happened to everyone else?
School
In high school I was usually a little on the quit side, figured everyone else had more interesting things to talk about. Now I realize that their interests were just different, not more exciting. I guess "The grass always appears to be greener on the other side of the fence." ...Expand for more
I enjoyed math classes, and drafting with Mr. Burleson was enjoyable, even the eraser and dust bag fights. I really thought I would end up doing something with that, but the opportunity wasn't there right then and my family situation was that I needed to work right away, so...... I really hated most science classes, especially Mr Daugherty for chemistry class. I wish I had continued with the band, I always enjoyed that at Johnson Jr. High.
In general I look back on that period as "Those were the days", not that everything was perfect, but we all had so many hopes and dreams that the future seemed exciting. I do wonder what happened to some of the people I knew then. I can still see all the faces, even though I can't remember the names too well. I got to see some of them at the last class reunion and will try harder to stay in touch. I'm still here in Eau Gallie and I would still get mail at the old address because I have family that still lives there. Also, maybe I'll pay for "Classmates" and get in touch with some that way. I will also add a photo when I figure out how.
