Brian's Story
Hello everyone,
How can it be almost 31 years since graduation?
When I was in high school I was a band/orchestra geek, wrote for the Chinook and ran a little track and cross country. Have forgotten most of the three years of Russian I took from Ursula Morton but still have fond memories of her, Dorothy Mootafes, Don Weaver, Mike Culver and so many other dedicated teachers. I probably appreciate them far more now than I did back then. In my spare time I delivered P-Is in the morning and, as a senior, worked in the stock room of LaGrace Fashion Apparel at the Alaska Junction with good friends Russ and Tom while staying active in Scouts and attending Westside Pres.
Went on to WSU, got a degree in journalism and wrote for a few newspapers. Government work grabbed me sometime in the 80s and I've held different positions for various public agencies. Am now the communications director for the lieutenant governor, with an office right in the state Capitol. Please look me up if you're in ...Expand for more
Olympia!
Along the way I was married and divorced, then remarried. Dee and I will celebrate our fifth anniversary on June 26th (2009). I have two kids from my previous marriage, one of whom is is college now; and a step-son by Dee, all teens.
As in high school I still enjoy snow and water sports, cycling, running/jogging and getting out in the woods. I live in S. King County (Fed Way area) but most of my "immediate" family - including my parents and my twin/classmate Greg - are still in West Seattle).
As far as travels, have been to Asia a couple of times, different parts of N. America and Alaska/Hawaii but still never to Europe! The profile picture of me and fish was taken last summer out of a resort in Central B.C. Have since lost the face fuzz (by spousal request).
It's always good to communicate with classmates. I am not a gold member of Clasmates but am on Facebook and my personal email is (my first and last name at earthlink.net) if you want to get in touch.
