Brian's Story
Well my carrer started off just like anyone else, I went to bootcamp in Great Lakes January 2004 and froze for my nine weeks in 27 below temperatures. Then i was off to Pensacola for 5 months to become an ATO. Then i was shipped off to Oceana where i received training on F/A18 A-D, which was horrible because it was all paper pubs. After 4 months of school i was sent to my first command in China Lake California, VX-9 to be exact. I had the opportunity to learn 6 different platforms of numerous different series and types (F?A18 A-D, E-F, EA-6B, F-14, AH-1W and AV-8B) which was tidious but became second nature. Here is where i made third class right before transfering out and going back to school. e there were no paper pubs. I finished there top of my class which was probably to be expected previously working on Hornets and all. Then i was off to sea duty with VFA-14 or so i thought. After a month in a half of work ups and sea bag packed and ready to go, I went down for herniated disc's and was pulled out a couple of days before cruise. I was no considered broken and sent to NAS Others where i became a BPO for a couple of months before they decided i would be better use in a command where they could use me. Here is where i was sent to AIMD Lemoore or FRC WEST as it is soon to be known. I have been here for a little over a year now and picked up second class and am working in the 600 Division Office where i help manage the biggest division in FRC WEST.
(more to come as i progress)
