Brian's Story
I was born and raised in Porterville attended Westfield K-6,Bartlett Jr high and Monache through 1981.I was very active in local sports in the area and always loved to go to school and hang out with friends.I have many fond memories of my days days in Porterville and the people I met there and have always wondered how everyone has ended up.I moved to bay area nor cal in 1981 with my parents,it was very difficult at first going to new high school, but I got involved in sports here and met many new friends.Everyone says it's better to leave Porterville now though, not a lot of opportunity to advance your position in life.I graduated Rancho Cotate in 1983,I started JC went off and on for a few years.Married my "high school sweetheart" shortly thereafter. We had a son together in 1985,I guess I was to young and couldn't settle down the marriage didn't last, went wild after that.Met my current wife in a bar one night, turned out we went to school together, got married in 1990 been that way ever since. We've had two beautiful daughters together they are now 15 and 17,so that makes three total.I was lucky I came to my senses young. My family means everything to me and I spend most of my time with them.My son now lives on his own and my kids are getting close to that point.Having children has been ve...Expand for more
ry rewarding as well as challenging at the same time, but I wouldn't have it any other way. They bring the youth and energy to life, what will I do without them.I've only had three jobs in my life, and the one I have now has been for the last 22 years.Started here at Mcnear Brick and block in 1987,my ex-father inlaw brought me here trying to help his daughter I guess. We manufacture concrete products and clay bricks from raw materials.I've been in charge here for almost ten years and I think the owner likes the job I do and pay an excellent wage for the service.I'll probably retire from here in around ten years or so,yeah that's right 53 and retired with pension.I'm not sure what I will do ,but it won't be work that's the plan but you know how life is sometimes full of surprises. My current interests include bass fishing, racing my Cobra and playing golf, lately my golf game is suffering.I've had some injuries the last year and half that have l kept me from playing well, but I'll be back.Except for that I'm healthy and still In decent shape, but it gets more difficult all the time to maintain my figure I have to watch what I eat and work out more.I hope all of you are doing well also, can't wait to here from you all.If your interested in more of my story fell free to contact me.All the best.BK
