Brian's Story
Life
I moved to Colorado in 1993 and worked as a ski bum at Club Med, Copper Mountain living in Leadville. In the summers I worked for the US Forest Service on a trail crew living in the backcountry. I decided to go to school in 1995 and moved to Missoula, Montana and attended the U of Montana studying Forestry with an emphasis in Recreation Management and Wilderness studies. In the summers I worked for the US Forest Service and US National Park Service on trail crews. After graduation in 2000 I went to Australia and New Zealand for 5 months to travel and visit friends. rater Lake National Park in Oregon on a trail crew over the summer and Yellowstone National Park in the winter. After a couple of years doing this I decided to go back to school for a Masters degree. I got into a program at the U of KwaZulu- Natal in South Africa, studying Protected Areas Mangement. After completed my masters I went back to Yellowstone NP for a winter and ended up getting a career position with the US Forest Service in Cloudcroft, New Mexico as a Natural Resource Manager. I been here for over two years, bought a house, acquired a stray cat and play in the outdoors as often as I can.
