Brian's Story
Life
My life, like others in my genre, has been a rollercoaster. Between looking for my soulmate, and just looking up skirts I mangaged to put together a semblence of a life. I searched for adventure, challenged both my adrenaline urges, and my inner sanctum to break out from the hum-drum boredom.
In high school I was kind of a wallflower. Kept mostly to myself, tried not to get in anyone's way. But, managed to make more enemies than friends. I was the nerd. But, I broke free of that and became a geek! Well, not really. After High School I went to college, became a jeweler, and then the bottom fell out...the recession hit, and I found that perhaps I would do better in civil services. Enter the Fire Department and the Ambulance squad.
Bells and whistles, lights and sirens, blood and gore. It was an exciting path to take, but one that was more than just an adrenaline junkie's career, it was a calling. Although, I never really was much of a Bible Thumper, I believe that the path had been lain before me by HIM or IT. I served my brethren, and in-turn served myself. It was a symbiosis that I could not ignore; a receital of power over life and death.
Now, I find myself facing a different challenge in the medical field. I have become the decision maker...No! Not a doctor. I am assigned to various locations in the world as a medical officer and safety officer, both on land and at sea.
Some of you may remember I had joined the Navy. Well, that was not in the deck of fate. I had to fold that hand after High School. I am not going to get into tha...Expand for more
t right now, some of you already know the story. But, that split from my path was actually just a gateway to another cobblestone street. It took me to the Fire Department and the ambulance squad.
My yearn for the sea remained, and I found opportunity in the shadow of my darkest hour. After being fired by an employer I had served faithfully for 5 years, I vowed to do the things I said I would years ago...To the sea!
I found Acadian Ambulance and Air-Med Services via the internet. They offered both the joy of service by the healing arts, and an offshore seagoing adventure. So, here I am today; working in a field I love, with the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises mine eyes hath seen.
Marriage is also in the air. Ironically, I had moved to Louisiana for my job, gone for 6 months, when I called my old employer, First Care Ambulance to discuss my IRA fund, when I re-met my bride. Amy and I were 1000 miles away. I had to move away to find someone close by. Amy and I married November 15, 2003 and we had our first child, Jason Kyle, he turned a very precocious 4 in May. In August of 2005 we purchased our first home. Now it is all phone calls and telegrams with my family.
We are welcoming our newest edition in late July or early August of 2008, with birth of our second child.
As things progress, I will update this site.
Cheers!
Life is strange, faith is divine...God Bless you my friends. Farewell!
