Brian's Story
LIFE
This is from a biography I had to write up for work, it¿s long winded but it does the job. After completing a four-year enlistment in the United States Navy, Mr. Moran graduated from Towson University, Summa Cum Laude, with a dual degree in Business Administration and Economics. Mr. Moran worked diligently to complete his college education, finishing a full four-year degree, with honors, in just two and a half years - of which, the first year was completed while he was on active duty in the Navy. After college, he spent several years as an economist at the Bureau of Economics (BEA). Mr. Moran both authored and coauthored several notable research papers and articles, with one report presented to Alan Greenspan, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board and other reports appeared regularly in the Survey of Current Business, BEA's monthly journal.
In 1998, while conducting research on college student wages and salaries, he saw a whole in market for data reflecting student¿s discretionary income. This drove him to formulate the business model for Everything College, Inc., a data mining and direct marketing firm. Immediately, Mr. Moran began...Expand for more
implementing the business model and within one year, the company grew out of his one bedroom apartment to four offices with a total of 15 employees.
After Everything College, Mr. Moran established his next career as an information technology and leadership/management consultant. Brian has been featured in many Baltimore/Washington area business journals and papers, such as; July 7-13, 2000, Baltimore Business Journal, ¿Techpreneur¿, The Daily Record, August 9th, 2000, ¿Moran Wants Gorilla Card in Hands of Millions¿ and has been cited for his business acumen in several other articles. In addition to articles, Mr. Moran has been a featured speaker on IT strategy, IT Architecture, Application Development, and IT Governance at many events such as the National Conference on Data Center Infrastructure Outlook and Technology - 2007 (homelanddefensejournal com/hdl/Data-Center-Infrastructure.htm), The Gilbane Conference on Content Technologies for Government. (lighthouseseminars com/washingtondc/Speakers.html#BrianMoran) and Hard Choices, Real Lessons: Internet Technology Planning for Decision Makers (forumone com/content/calendar/detail/2169).
