Brian's Story
Well, after 5 years of High School and summer school I actually got a diploma. It was only through the hard work and dedication of Ms. Darrigan and very little effort on my part. After that I went to Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ where I spent 13 months learning how to work on cars and diesel trucks.
Within days of completing my training there I was back in Livermore working at Livermore German Auto. I worked there for almost two years learning my trade and nursing a fledgling drug addiction. The latter got the best of me and I was asked to leave.
Soon after that I was looking for a job at the same time my next employer was looking for a Kubota tractor mechanic. I didn't know anything about tractors but I was the most qualified that he had found. So I became a tractor mechanic. It happened to be a perfect fit and over 20 years later I'm still fixing tractors. Of course I still had that annoying drug habit to deal with.

g that I was becoming the person I never wanted to become and checked myself into rehab. To make a long story short, that was in January of 1989 and I have been clean and sober ever since.
About 10 years later I started dating my wife Karen. We met while we were members of Mile High Adventures, the now defunct singles activity club that was in San Ramon. We dated for a year and a half before we were married and 2 years later we had our daughter Sara.
Of course there were other jobs and relationships mixed in those 10 years but they all led me to where I am now. Soon after Sara was born we moved to Brentwood from Dublin. I gave up my one man mobile equipment repair business to go to work for one of my customers, Golden State Landscaping in Livermore and I have been there since the end of 2002.
Life is good and I don't know if I would really want to change anything. I do wonder what would have happened if I had actually went to class, studied, and went to college. I also wish my brother hadn't commited suicide in 2001.
