Brian's Story
College
I started college at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas and finished at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas as a music education major. I received my Bachelors in Music Degree on December 20,2003.
While in college, I maintained a GPA of 3.65 on average. As a result, I was offered additional scholarships and a membership to Phi Theta Kapp Honor Society.
Workplace
I have just finished my second year of teaching serving as the Assistant Band Director in the DeKalb ISD. Recently, I have accepted a new position as the Assistant Band Director at Bonham Ju...Expand for more
nior High in the Ector County/Odessa ISD which is 5A school district in west Texas. It's really quite interesting because the junior high that I will be at feeds Odessa Permian High School which is the school that the movie "Friday Night Lights" was made about.
I love my job and the best part about it is not only staying involved with music every day of my life but also working with the wonderful students that I have.
I hope to one day go to grad school and earn a Master's degree and eventually work in the Dallas, Houston, or Austin areas as a head band director at a 5A school.
