Bridget's Story
Life
After graduation I went off to Basic Training for Army Reserves in Fort Jackson, SC. I was gone for 4 months & returned home to work full-time & attend college part-time. I finished my 8 years in the Army Reserves in 1997. In 1994 I met up with Jared Barber & we had a daughter, Briana, in September 1995. Things didn't work out with Jared, so we broke up in November 1995. In November 1998, I moved to North Carolina with my mom & daughter, where I met my husband, Kendrick, in 1999. We married in 2000 & I had another daughter, Khaile, in June 2001. Briana is now 13 and Khaile is 8. We are all doing well. My mom (Regina) runs a little cafe across the road from her home. Tammy (my sister) still lives in Michigan. She now has two children, Ronna (7) & Ronald Jr. (6). I still work for The University of North Carolina at Pembroke as a Secretary for the AVC of Facilities...Expand for more
Management, along with being a student at the same university full-time.
School
My biggest crushes in school were Rob Baker & Jack Feather. Rob & I ended up being the best of friends during 11th & 12th grade - even went to prom as friends.
If I could do anything over again in school, I would have focused more on my school work & prepared myself for college.
My best friend during high school was Ginger Bailey. She was always there for me in the good & bad times, and still is.
Military
I joined the Army Reserves in 1989, the summer before my Senior year. I left for Basic Training a week after graduation (6/1990) at Fort Jackson, SC. I came home from all my training in October 1990. I was a secretary (E-4 / Specialist) until I completed my six years in 1997. My unit was in Southfield, MI. First is was a General Hospital and then switched over to a Combat Support Hospital.
