Greetings to you! Trying to add newest photos of my children/grandchildren and me. I'm a bit, okay alot, technologically challenged as I have not worked in a few years due to a physical disability which renders me unable to play most musical instruments, especially the piano/keys. Like to travel and usually opt for sunny destinations. Am married to a lovely gentleman. My three children are grown and I am very proud of them. I am a grandmother and I love it.
I have also done volunteer work in my spare time teaching English language. I had the pleasure of tutoring a young Cuban doctor who had been sent by Cuba to Honduras to give medical care to the native people in the jungles, where there was no running water, the conditions unsanitary, and barely enough food to keep a small family sustained. Edward escaped return to Cuba (where he earned $19 per month as a physician) by traveling north thru S. America, Mexico and arrived in Portland. A wonderful huma...Expand for more
nitarian he is and I will never forget him and what he taught me about serving others.
I am involved in abstract painting now and really enjoy working with acrylics and other mediums. I've had one show so far because I am just beginning my second career for my 2nd half of life. Watch for a website coming soon (fall hopefully) with my work. When I can, I like to attend art walks, visit galleries, chat online with my foreign abstract artist friends, study the great abstract expressionists, enjoy photography, my family. and seeing my very interesting friends. I am even teaching a little art to friends and family. These things have been a great spiritual/creative enhancement for me since I do not play instruments any longer or work at a regular-type job. At age 39 I began writing music with the flavor of classical, contemporary, and wrote, recorded and played music for a now defunct local band.
Now, I gotta go paint. Pray for this country.
