Bridget's Story

Life I am now living in Virginia with my husband, Patrick, of twenty-three years and our daughter, Meagan of twenty-two years and her husband and my awesome grandson, Nolan. We moved here fifteen years ago and have since bought a home. We bought an old Victorian home in the downtown district. It was built in 1898 and we have been working on it since we moved in, but I love, love, love it! I am working part time at our church doing office work and youth counseling. We travel on mission trips around the world to share the gospel of Jesus. We attend Calvary Chapel Lynchburg and we now realize what an amazing God we serve. Since we made Christ the focus in our family our lives have been changed dramatically and totally for the better. We get to see how His hand moves in our lives daily. It is awesome to see how He has changed our lives. Without Him I would be living a life of emptiness continuing to search for things to fill the void that only Jesus can fill. My husband is a mortician at a locally owned funeral home and my daughter is now a junior in high school. We are all very active in our church and community. I have one dog that totally rocks. Life is good thanks to Jesus!! School Let's see....school. I went to the same elementary school, junior high, and high school with many of the same people. I have fond memories of many people, but a few really stick out. I remember playing vicious four square games, tetherball, red rover, heads up 7-Up, going behind the fence in the bamboo trails and eating the licorice tasting stuff, having lunch outside in elementary school, working in the cafeteria, staying after at the recreation center with Cookie, doing the fitness program with Mr. Bryant, hanging out in front of the ASB place in junior high, going to Hoagie's after school, going to Hilltop park after school, rollerskating, very few school dances including dancing to songs such as Private Idaho, Our Lips Are Sealed, and many many more rockin' 80's tunes. High school...I loved playing basketball, Manual Scan with Bart Mendoza played at lunchtime one day, scooters in front of the school, making the '87 for our clas...Expand for more
s photo, nachos and Pepsi or grandma cookies for lunch, smoking cloves, Tijuana, "do ya wanna?", Hot Dog on a Stick at Plaza Bonita, Licorice Pizza Record store, Blue Meanie Records, Stratus, Studio 9 and late night dancing, ditching fifth period and going to Lolita's for lunch,I loved that our school was mainly outdoors and we could be outside at lunch time and during class changes. I loved that guys tried out for the cheerleading squad..and made it! Prom at Sea World??? Rockin'! High school was good and bad for me. We were coming of age and choosing who we would be and what we would become at such a young and inexperienced age. It has only been through many years of good and bad choices, experiences, and a gaining of knowledge that I can finally know who I really am. I hope everybody that reads this can know who they are. It is a sad thing living a life that is unfulfilled. Been there done that and don't ever want to go there again. We all have taken different paths and made different choices for the life we now live. If you are not happy with what you are living make the decision to change it. Put your faith in Christ. He has been the one constant in my life that has never ever failed me. I have failed myself as have friends and family, but He has never left me alone. It is great knowing that Jesus is the reason that my life is no longer unfulfilled. Workplace I went to dental assisting school in the fall of 1989. I completed the one year course and proceeded to work into dentistry. I love what I do and have been doing it ever since. I worked in California at a couple specialty practices, but since I have lived in Virginia I have worked in one practice. We mainly did advanced full mouth reconstructions. It was an awesome learning opportunity. I have taken the last year off when my mom died and have been doing some mission dentistry in Nepal and Russia. It has been the most rewarding part of my work. I have since quit my job in 2012 to return to school to get my RN. I am down to one more year and I will be graduating from nursing school. I am looking forward to what is in store for my life.
