Brook's Story
Life
Hello all! I hope your lives are taking you where you want to be. I have had many ups and downs in my life. I was married from 1991-2001. At that time I lived in Elgin, Dundee, and Carpentersville. I have a handsome son, Caleb, who is now 13 years old and almost taller than me. I taught for 10 years at Chicago Junior School over on route 25. I was divorced in 2001. In December of that year I was set up on a blind date. We joke that because he fixed my toilet oin the first date he was a keeper. His name is John and he is a big old Irishman who makes me laugh. We were married in 2003 on the back of a boat in Delavan, WI. My son gave me away. We were joined by my husband's three grown sons and a small gathering of family and friends. We lived in Wheaton for 3 years where I taught at St. Michael's Catholic School (I converted shortly after we were married). e I am not able to teach full time yet, I have finally begun subbing again. Through my faith and the faith of my family and friends I am slowly starting to get stronger. I've begun working out again and doing Yoga. We are waiting for my step son and his wife to be able to buy our house in Wheaton so we can expand our house up in Delavan. We went from 2400 sq. ft. to 800 sq. ft. It has been quite a change but it is making me go through our material things more carefully and get rid of the things we don't need. We are also getting excited about finding a pontoon boat so I can still enjoy boating, as we have for the last five summers, without the harsh bumps and glaring sun.We don't need any more clots or rashes from the bumps and sun. Well life keeps changing. I'm now going through another divorce but for the first time in a long time, I'm content. I do things with my son (although he now has his first girlfriend so mom is chopped liver now. I run the Religious Education program at my Church, waitress, and work the front desk at a local resort. All that keeps me pretty busy. God bless, and have a great day!
