Bruce's Story
I started to relate my life story in an other area but it ended very quickly, so here goes again: 1959 left school worked at Bolton Motors in the parts department
1960/61 went MTI radio operator course
1961 back to Bolton Motors tow truck driver/ tire shop
1962 hired by The department of Transport... radio operator course in Ottawa at the end of the course stationed in Neepawa until the fall of 1963 (got married April 1963)
1963-1965 stationed in Armstrong, Ontario first child born (Kimberly)
1966 Stationed in Churchill, MB for 3 months (was supposed to go to Baker Lake after)
went to Ottawa for air traffic control course
1966/68 stationed in Regina (worked in the control tower) twins born in 67 (Darcy and Darren)
1969 stationed Winnipeg control tower

1971 my wife and kids stayed in Saskatoon while I went to Winnipeg for radar training then continued training in Thunder Bay, ON, as a tower/terminal controller, then back to Saskatoon for more training as a tower/terminal controller.
1972 transferred to Winnipeg as an enroute controller (fourth child born Bryce)
1980 Became an IFR specialist. visiting towers and terminals to determine needs of central region facilities and operations requirements.
Also represented controllers during the building of the new area control centre .
1991-1996 worked in Winnipeg Centre as IFR specialist. Retired February 1996
My wife, Marlene, is still working with the General Counsel of Winnipeg Community Centres.
We both enjoy camping and fishing at Lake of the Woods, and every once in a while we take a winter vacation in Cuba, this winter being one of them.
