Bruce's Story
Life
After high school, I went to the US Air Force Academy, graduating in 1977 with a BS in electrical engineering. I then went to Air Force pilot training and flew several types of aircraft in the AF for 20 years, retiring in 1997 as a Lt Col. Just after retiring from the AF, I started work as a 737 pilot with Southwest Airlines. After a total of 22 years at SWA, including 17 years as a captain, I retired in 2019. mbry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Carol (Carol Fisher, IVHS '73) and I have been married 47 years and we have 2 daughters, Kim (43) and Ashley (40). Kim is married and lives in San Antonio, and Ashley lives in Madison, Wisconsin. We also have 2 granddaughters, Kaylee (11) and Kendall (5) who live in San Antonio. I still own the red '57 Chevy that I drove at IVHS. It was restored a few years ago and is now part show car and part daily driver. We currently live in Cibolo, Texas, just outside San Antonio.
