Bruce's Story
Life
Shortly after graduation I joined the Coast Guard, from which I retired after 22 years. While in the CG, I became an Electronics Technician and worked my up through the ranks from Enlisted to Chief Warrant Officer and finally retired as a Lieutenant. While in the CG I started working on a college degree in 1986, but was unable to complete the program due to various sea assignments. I finally received my BA in Information Technologies August 2005. (It only took me 19 years to earn a 4 year degree!) My current job is as a Senior Manager/Terminal Engineer for Tyco Telecommunications, traveling the world commissioning undersea fiber optic systems. (Most of you still in NH should know all about Tyco.)
I currently reside in Easton, Pennsylvania with my wife of 27 years, two ...Expand for more
dogs (1 Golden Retriever and 1 Jack Russell Terrier) and a cat. My job requires that I travel at least half of the year, so I donÂt see much of wife or home. My travels have turned me into an avid reader, trying to kill time in airports and on airplanes. (My trip from Sanya, China to Djibouti was 4 days from start to finish!) When home, I spend most of my time working on my 80+ year old home (money pit!). My very limited spare time is spent on my computer hobby and playing with my toy(s). My current toy and addiction is attending Performance Driving Courses with my +400hp 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra Coupe. Zipping around the track at 100+ mph is a total BLAST! My goal is to earn my NASA Competition License and race cars, instead of using the degree I spent 19 years to earn.
