Bruce's Story
After graduating from Essex, I attended Vermont Technical College, where I earned my Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. The job market was terrible when I graduated, so some friends and I decided to check out the Rochester Institute of Technology. As things worked out, I decided to go to RIT and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor's degree.
I immediately started to work in Ithaca, NY, for BorgWarner, a large automotive drivetrain component supplier and have been working there now for 23 years. I have held a variety of positions while working here, but for the past 15 years, I have been working in the Transmission Components, Product Engineering department. many of the major vehicle manufacturers in the US and Europe. I've traveled to many countries in North America and Europe. Don't let anyone fool you though, traveling for business is NOT glamorous! It has given me the opportunity to see things that I probably wouldn't have seen on my own though.
I married, and have since divorced, Pam McDonald with whom I have two children. My oldest is a boy, Greg. He is 16 years old and loves sports, music and old muscle cars, especially 1969 Dodge Chargers. My youngest is Jessica, my sweet little daughter. She enjoys sports, music, and cooking. She's a great cook!
Well, that's about it up to this point. I'm looking forward to seeing where life goes from here.
