Bruce's Story
Life
After graduating in 1958, I received my BA from Northwestern U. and my PhD in Anthropology from Indiana University in 1969. I am currently professor of anthropology at Florida State University and plan to retire in 2007. I met the love of my life in 1974 in Mexico City, swept her away from her homeland, and over the past 31 years have made love and poetry and produced two beautiful daughters who are now married and on their own. in West Africa (two years), Spain, Mexico, and Sweden. And I have found that life is good. Aside from teaching and writing, I enjoy carpentry and building things, and am thinking that soon I am going to pack up my pickup with tools and drive to New Orleans, sweat in the sun, and help poor people rebuild their houses. Aren't we, the class of 1958, thinking about a reunion some time soon? Yikes! 2008 will be 50 years, won't it?
