Bruce's Story
Life
I was born in Berkeley California in January 1956, residing there until age five. Our family then moved to Aloha Oregon in 1961 when my Father accepted a position with Textronix in the neighboring town of Beaverton. I remained in Oregon through 1974, where on graduating from high school, I moved to Crockett, California while attending Stanford U.
After my Stanford stint, I continued an additional five years at the University of Nevada  Reno while working as a Police Officer for the City of Sparks, Nevada. I remained in law enforcement until my retirement in 1998. Throughout this period, I was engaged as a Security Consultant for HarrahÂs Reno until it was acquired by Holiday Inn.
As I continued forward with my life, akin to most folks, I met a great girl (or guy as your case may be), fell in love, wedded, and raised seven children, all girls! This of course necessitated the need for a diversion that would take me far from home, and motorcycles seemed to fit the bill. A million miles and more or less a dozen motorcycles later, my wife Sherie and I ride as much as the opportunity presents itself. We have visited forty-two of the lower forty-eight states, Alaska, and all of the Canadian Provinces on on...Expand for more
e of our Honda Goldwings.
At present we reside in a clandestine gated community located in Cottonwood, which is about 20 minutes south of Redding, California. With our youngest daughter still at home and attending high school, our days can take on a life of their own, but one way or another, we seem to muddle through. As if one high school aged daughter is not enough to cause complete disorder, we also have four dogs, two cats, and two horses, in addition to a thoroughly over-sexed pair of cockatiels. I suppose one might maintain that, Âlife remains frenzied at best.Â
At forty-seven, life continues to be demanding, stimulating, and adventurous, and the daysÂ
the days by no means have sufficient hours. Between school dances, phone calls from the boys, sleepovers and the like, we still seem to find time for water skiing on Lake Shasta and Whiskeytown Lake, horseback riding, and riding motorcycles as much as possible. I prefer my new 2003 Candy Red Honda Goldwing; Sherie however favors her 1996 Vulcan 1500 Classic. Most of our motorcycle travels are on the west coast, visiting with friends and family along the way.
Well, there you have it briefly, and as time allows, I may possibly add tidbits here and there.
