Bruce's Story
Life
Life? My life's pretty exciting. I am a father of five great boys. The youngest is 1yr 1m (as of 05/05/07). The oldest is 18 and in college. He is taking a degree in Journalism and works part time and has a Rock Band. So without a doubt I am always on the move. My 14yr old is going into 9th grade in a early college program. My 12 year old is going into 7th grade honors classes. And my 9yr old is being home schooled. Don't ask me? The smarts must be from there momma. lol.
School
School was more fun then it was supposed to be. I was better breaking the rules then getting home work done (but not much, lol).
Workplace
Wow, work has been all over the place. Did a lot of Fast Food in the early years since I was a over-achiever (lol). When I started a family a bit early in life I had to get moving. I worked in demolition for while tearing down old factories. Worked in electronics assembly for awhile. Dirtiest place I worked for (worse then demolition) was a bar steal machine shop. That was the best pay up to that point so I wasn't complaining too much. After that I went back to school and got a degree in automotive repair and diagnostics. My career has b...Expand for more
een steadily climbing ever since. In that line I've been a lube technician, light mechanic, line technician, and then I move over to the office. I went on to be a warranty administrator, service advisor, assistant service manager, (from lube guy to assit. manager at 1 company) and finally service manager. Unfortunately I make to that last stage as the Auto Industry falls on it's face. So since then I have had a very rocky time. Lost one job due to politics. I had the figures to counter what they were claiming but didn't make a difference. Lost the next job due to market slow down. Was a night manager of a service department and the company shut the shift down and me with it. Lost the next job I think due to politics again. Same as before, I had the numbers to prove my performance but it didn't matter. The only common factors in all those jobs seems to be me. lol. At this point I'm at a cross road. Time to change fields. Trucking seemd to be the only job that has a good starting wage (for the untrained). The downside, you almost have to go over the road till you get 1-3yrs experience. Hard on me and the family. After that I can go for the good paying local jobs.
