Nobody gets the whole story. Not here, anyway. It's between me and the professionals. But, I'm doing alright. Credit that to a recent history of no smoking, drinking, or other additives. My wife, Marilyn and I, are also active members of our local Gold's Gym. As I told her, "We can't get back what we've already lost, let's try to protect what we still have." I made it to Broadcasting School, in Houston, and worked in AM radio for a few years. I started out at a small station in Louisiana. It didn't take long for them to get enough of me and me, enough of them. After a few months slinging pizzas back in Dallas, I wound up at a radio station in Longview. My time there was good for me. I didn't use my own name on the air, that allowed me a little breathing room. Nobody in Longview knew who I was, unless I wanted them to. There were also jobs in Marshall and Tyler, TX. that followed. Tyler was where I stayed the longest. Tyler was also where I had a choice of two turns. One would have led me to a job in a much larger radio market and who knows where after that. The other, led me out into the labor force. I was disappointed and desperate. I made the wrong choice ... again. We're back in Dallas and I'm working as a Carpenter's Apprentice. I hope my Dad's happy in his afterlife. Since he was a Carpenter and told me that's all I could ever be. And then, only if I got lucky. My first marriage lasted a little over a year. I came out of it with full custody of a son. No child support and no ex-wife to put up with. Taking care of a baby is a whole lot of work, even if you mean well.
