Bruce's Story
Most of my friends know that I was college bound. They probably figured I would go to Russia on occasion and that my job would be in the government. They probably would never have guessed that I work to promote small business or that I decided to leave my job for a while to go live and work in Russia for a year (Alfa Fellowship Program 2006/2007).
Most of my friends would be shocked that I consume alcohol - sometimes I even get a little wild at parties. Most probably still think of me as the straight-laced nerd that does not know how to have fun. I guess they h...Expand for more
ave never been on a trip with me or seen me at a bar on St. Paddy's day.
I guess if I could gather my friends in one room, it would be an amazing event - especially if no arguments happened since so many of my friends have very different views. Despite that, I value all of them and love to be a part of their lives.
But I hope they all know that despite our differences, we are all part of the fabric of life. I hope many of my high school and college friends will get back in touch. One of the highlights is always to get an e-mail or phone call from an old friend.
