Bruce's Story
Life
Greetings to all of my fellow graduates of Plum Class of 79. After graduation I entered the Navy, and after flight training was assigned to a P-3C Orion squadron at NAS Jacksonville, FL. I made deployments to Italy, Portugal, and Spain, and was able to see almost all of Europe. I was then stationed on Bermuda for three years (beautiful place but REAL SMALL after three years.) After that I spent one year aboard USS Saratoga, an aircraft carrier out of Mayport, FL. After having two kids, I decided that I would rather watch them grow up than fly for the Navy, so I got out. umerous Soviet ballistic missile submarines to the North Atlantic in response to U.S. Minuteman missiles in Europe; Nicaragua operations in the Mid-80's; and I was directly involved in monitoring the sinking of a YANKEE Class ballistic missile submarine near Bermuda. All these were scary, but I'm glad I was there. I got to meet a lot of great people, and have life-long friendships with many of them. I'm currently living in Jacksonville, Florida, and work as a Human Performance analyst and consultant. I've been married for the past 21 years to my wife Nancy (who is from Jacksonville, Florida), and have three great kids: Mary Beth 14 - named after one of my favorite classmates, Ms. Riggs, Sean 13, and Christopher 11.
