Bryan's Story
HI ALL --
Since high school graduation in '75, I attended Wichita State University where I graduated in '79 with a major in chemistry and minors in mathematics and biology. I attended graduate school at Iowa State University (at Ames Laboratory) where I received my PhD in physical chemistry in '86. While in graduate school I met fellow graduate student Maureen, we married in 1983.
I went to Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) as a postdoctoral fellow, and became a technical staff member. I have published/presented well over one-hundred technical papers. I was Chief-of-Staff for the Deputy Director for National Security for a few years. My core work involved protecting and sustaining our national security in tangible ways. I took on increased responsibilities, as Senior Advisor for Weapon Physics, while maintaining my connections with national security policy issues.
I was the Director of the National Security Office for over 7 years at LANL conducting National and International Security Policy Analysis.

he Office of the Secretary of Defense Policy (OSD(P)) for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear and Missile Defense. This was in the Pentagon, where I worked directly on the 2018 Nuclear Posture Review, and arms control issues (INF, START, Open Skies, etc.). As some say, it's more than just a job!
On Halloween of 2019, I retired from LANL after 32+ years. I continue to work part-time on National Security issues.
We have two great, now adult, kids Brenna [completing her PhD in neuroscience in Hamburg Germany] and Colleen [completed BS in Zoology and working to become a zoo keeper}.
We enjoy living in northern New Mexico at ~7500 feet in the mountains (like southern Colorado). Along the way, I've continued to play clarinet and sax in a variety of performances .
Los Alamos is north of Albuquerque, near Santa Fe. Taos, Red River, and Durango, CO are 30 minutes to a few hours north. Beautiful country. Feel free to contact me here.
Missed out in the last few reunions -- hoping we a 45th reunion and that I can make it!
All the best to all!
