Life I got married in 1996 to my best friend, Mary. I could not ask for a better wife. We met at the University of Maryland Medical Center and became good friends, after 2 years of friendship we went on a date and the rest is history. We have 2 Aussies (Talon, Kylie) 3 cats (Tux Toffee and Mishka). About 6 years ago while working in the operating room I wanted to have my own personal scrub hat, so Mary showed me how to cut the patterns and put it together. Well one person asked for a hat then another and it started to spread. I started thinking about how to improve on the hats so I bought a small embroidery machine to sew artwork on the hats. There was no way I could have predicted the popularity. I made the jump 3 years ago to a legitimate business (Willowtree Embroidery). We have some contracts now and starting to get some recognition. After 4 years of long hours the business is beating on its own. We just launched our website for custom surgical caps and soon we will launch our embroidery website.
