Bryan's Story
I’m Bryan Hill, born and raised in Hurricane, Utah—small town, big sky, and a mind that never stopped asking questions. In the spring of my senior year at Hurricane High, I took an EMT course at Dixie State College to prep for Hospital Corps School. I had already enlisted in the Navy. I wanted to show up sharp.
I graduated near the top of my Corpsman class and was allowed to specialize. I chose Behavioral Health—not because I had to, but because I wanted to understand the mind: my own, my family’s, and the people around me. I’d seen what trauma could do, and I didn’t want to be another person pretending it wasn’t there. I wanted to help people face it—and heal.
Over the next 12 years, I served as a Hospital Corpsman specializing in clinical and operational psychology. I worked in both military treatment facilities and embedded field environments. I helped stabilize sailors and marines dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and suicide risk. I conducted screenings, ran interventions, and collaborated with psychologists and psychiatrists to get people the care they needed.
But some of my most formative work happened in the operational domain, including time supporting Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC). That role required everything I had. It meant advising command on unit readiness and individual fitness—not just physically, but psychologically. It meant being trusted in moments when trust is scarce. And it meant standing in the gap when no one else would. In environments where vulnerability could be seen as weakness, I helped make mental resilience part of the mission.
While serving full-time, I also earned two degrees from Penn State, pursuing my education with the same grit I brought to the field. I didn’t just want to understand the human mind—I wanted to understand data, systems, and structure. That blend of behavioral insight and analytical thinking is what launched the next chapter of my life.
Today, I work at the intersection of data science, cybersecurity, and behavioral analytics. As a Data Science Advisor and Information Security Data Scientist, I support complex enterprise programs across federal and financial sectors. Whether I’m building cloud-native analytics pipelines, guiding cross-functional teams, or mentoring emerging talent, I lead with emotional intelligence, techn...Expand for more

Recognition is nice. But impact matters more. My real wins come from watching someone find clarity, watching a system evolve, or watching a team go from chaos to cohesion.
What I'm Into
My tastes are broad, but intentional. I still crank Usher, Akon, and Linkin Park when I need focus or fuel—but I also lean into tracks that process pain, purpose, and motion. I’m always reading. Eragon still hits, but I’m also drawn to books on trauma, strategy, systems, and psychological performance.
I love a good story—especially when it’s messy. Kreia from KOTOR II, Frieza, Zeke from AOT—I gravitate to characters who force you to question your assumptions. Heroes are great, but antiheroes show us where the work really is.
And yes, I still decompress with The Simpsons, Animal Planet, and even Jackass. Balance, right?
Stuff I Say (and Actually Live)
“Quo non ascendam?” — To what heights can I not rise?
“When a problem’s too simple—make it complex. When it’s too complex—make it simple.”
“Lucid dreams are like debugging the soul.”
“I used to be the Black Aura. Now I’m the White Sapphire.”
“Passion will burn you without temperance and control.”
“Sometimes I see myself in the villain more than the hero.”
“They’re stuck in a trauma cycle. I broke mine years ago.”
“When we love, it isn’t because they’re perfect. It’s because we learn to see an imperfect person perfectly.”
I think in metaphors. I speak in systems. And I live in the tension between what is and what could be.
What I Stand For
Even out of uniform, I still live by the code that shaped me: Honor. Courage. Commitment.
Whether I’m mentoring a junior analyst, designing an enterprise security model, or helping someone navigate a personal turning point, I’m all in. I show up with integrity. I lead with clarity. I don’t do anything halfway.
Behavioral health wasn’t something I stumbled into—it was a choice. A choice to understand. A choice to heal. A choice to change. That same mindset powers everything I do now.
I’m still learning. Still building. Still pushing the edge of what’s possible.
And I’m not even close to done.
